Dr. Adewusi was a former Commisioner for finance, lagos state. Dr Adewusi holds a PhD in international and monetary economics from the Keio University, Tokyo, and Japan LLB from the University of Lagos, M.SC and B.SC (Economics) from Obafemi Awolowo university, ile-ife. He graduated with a first class honours degree and won three outstanding prizes including the faculty prize for the best graduating student in the faculty of social sciences in 1986.he started his working career as a lecturer at the obafemi awolowo university. He then proceeded to japan center for international finance (JCIF) where, among other things, he researched on the Japanese financial statements and marketers as well as analysis and impact of finanacial liberalization in Japan.

He returned to Nigeria in 1994 and resumed at Lead Merchant bank as the manager and head of corporate planning and business development. In this capacity, he had responsibility for the analysis and appraisal of various business proposals in the manufacturing, commerce, oil and gas sector for SME’s in general. Within four years, he rose to senior manager cadre.

Dr. Adewusi was in the transition implementation committee for governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State and also served as a member of the policy committee that fashioned out the government economic blueprint. He was appointed managing Director/Chief Executive officer of ibile Holdings Limited in November 2000, a position he held until January 2004 when he was appointed the Lagos state commissioner for finance.
